I am veteran and am seeking some advice on how to handle my current situation. I have been unemployed for approximately 6 months. I was doing okay because of 401K contributions and a recently awarded disability case for a closed period of time. I have reapplied for a reinstatement of the aforementioned disability which is a direct result of my loss of employment. I
I have went to the local Social Services Department to apply for assistance. My dilemma is I am single with no children and the only assistance Social Services will give me is food stamps and at some point I may receive cash assistance of $185 a month but they will not provide emergency funds for rent because I have no income and no one living in the household with me under the age of 18. I owe $595.25 for the month of February and will probably get a warrant from the sherrif tomorrow, Feb 26th to vacate my apartment. I have contacted the local resources for my area and they will only help if I have some the funds on hand.
I have a vehicle which is one way I make a couple of dollars by running errands, taking individuals to appts, etc but normally just enough to keep gas in the tank for the next trip. I sell Avon but I do not make a lot of money because I am still building clientele. I have also been trying to find legitimate "work from home jobs" but most of them want you to pay for some sort of funds to start up. I am hoping that it will not take long for the money from Social Services to kick in; for Social Security to make a determination on my benefit reinstatement; and I also have an car accident settlement I am awaiting.

I am scheduled for pre-op for the disability on Feb 22nd and the surgery on Feb 29th. I do not think this will happen due to a recent bout of the flu which I am still trying to get rid of.

I have also filed my taxes already and have applied those funds to bills which I could. My court date for eviction is Feb 19th, 2008. My total amount owed at this time on outstanding bills is approximately $3,000.
I also have a vehicle which is paid for but needs a radiator hose. This was one way I could make a couple of dollars by running errands, taking individuals to appts, etc. I sell Avon but I do not make a lot of money because I am still building clientele and this may come to a halt also with no transporatation. I have also been trying to find legitimate "work from home jobs" but most of the ones I have investigated want start up money.
